The new 825-square-foot observation deck at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) transforms an informal plane-watching spot into an aviation-themed community destination. Designed by Sweet Sparkman Architects and built by Stellar Development, the project includes shaded seating, 27 car parking spaces, a control tower audio system, interactive timeline and an aviation-themed playground.
A standout feature of the $2.36 million development is the striking wing-shaped canopy, clad in Reynobond® 4mm FR Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) in Bone White and Regions Green. Fabricated and installed by Mullet’s Aluminum Products Inc, the high-performance panels support the shade’s evocative design, providing visual impact and durability in Florida’s coastal climate.
